CMN5533 THÉORIES DE LA COMMUNICATION ET DE LA SANTÉ (3cr.)

Théories, concepts et recherches reliés au domaine de la communication et de la santé au niveau micro (interactions entre le patient, le médecin et les dispensateurs de soins), au niveau intermédiaire (rôle de l’information dans les organisations de soins de santé) et au niveau macro (le rôle des médias dans la construction des représentations sociales de la santé et de la maladie). Analyse quantitative, qualitative et mixte avec accent sur les approches interdisciplinaires et les recherches en santé publique.

Thèmes abordés : Culture et santé ; les sciences sociales et humaines et la santé ; l’Internet-santé, les principes de la consultation médicale ; la relation soignant-soigné ; la santé publique et la promotion/prévention de la santé ; les technologies et la santé ; les soins à domicile ; les médicaments et la société ; les crises de santé publique ; les approches, théories et modèles de communication dans le domaine de la santé, etc.

Le Dr Paul Greenman est psychologue au Service de psychologie clinique de la santé de l'Hôpital Montfort et professeur de psychologie à l'Université du Québec en Outaouais. Il est membre de l'unité de Soins primaires de l'Institut de recherche de l'Hôpital Montfort (IRHM) et il s'intéresse à l'application d'interventions interpersonnelles auprès des patients ayant des maladies chroniques, dans le but de les aider à mieux s'adapter à leur maladie. Titre: Development and Usability of an Online Mindfulness-Based Program for Medical Student Wellness

Résumé du projet: The overarching aim of this research is to determine whether an online Mindfulness-Based Program for Medical Student Wellness (MIND-MED) is of interest and value to medical students. The results of this study will set the stage for designing a large randomized controlled trial (RCT) on the benefits of MIND-MED for medical trainees. Our primary objectives are to 1) develop the online MIND-MED program and 2) pilot test the program for usability (e.g. ease of use, clarity of instructions), acceptability (e.g. program satisfaction, relevance) and preliminary efficacy. The piloting process will also yield important feasibility data (e.g., program compliance, ease of recruitment) that will assist in the planning of a larger-scale randomized controlled trial of the online mindfulness program for medical students.

Résumé du projet: The object of the study is to evaluate if adult attachment states of mind in patients with Binge Eating Disorders (BED) change as a result of receiving time-limited evidence-based group psychotherapy for BED. A second objective is to assess if improvement in attachment states of mind following treatment acts as a mechanism of change of BED symptoms, depression and interpersonal problems
